Dr. Dick Ruhe

Senior Consultant

Dr. Dick Ruhe is a speaker, author, and entrepreneur. With management experience in the private and public sectors, he offers time-proven, common sense ways for people to hone their skills and reach their full potential – all within a high-spirited, enthusiastic learning atmosphere.

With Ken Blanchard, Dick co-authored the best-selling business book Know Can Do! (Berrett-Koehler, San Francisco). Dick is also the author of Getting Major Results, a productivity program and field book for industry. He has served as a regular columnist for Sales and Marketing Training magazine and has been published in Training and Development Journal, Health Care Journal, Proceedings of the Academy of Management, Personal Excellence, the Drucker Foundation Series, and others. He received a BS in Engineering from the USCG Academy, MBA from the University of New Haven and Doctorate in Human Resource Development from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is the author of the SRO 360, a personality-behavior psychometric to provide individuals feedback on their characteristic preferences.

Dick works with the International Thought Leader Network as a Senior Consultant. Previously, he presented In Search of Excellence and Thriving on Chaos from the Tom Peters Group. He was Managing Director of Performance Impact, Inc., and Vice-President of Marketing for the Center for Leadership Studies. He has also worked closely with Leonard Nadler, Gordon Lippitt, and Marshall Goldsmith. He is Managing Director of SRO, LLC.

A past chapter president of Sales and Marketing Executives; he has held memberships in the International Customer Service Association, the National Speakers Association, the International Platform Association, the Association for Talent Development, and the Evaluation Research Association.

Dick is a recognized expert on human performance, offering messages that are based on fresh research, including take-aways and tools that can be put to immediate use. His basic focus is on influence: leadership, sales, teamwork, and change. He connects well with attendees’ real-life issues, resulting in increased commitment to productivity and execution.
