Dr. Matthew D. Della Porta, Ph.D.

Dr. Della Porta is a Ph.D. graduate from the University of California, Riverside and a former student of renowned happiness expert Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky, the author of The How of Happiness. His research in positive psychology explored the strategies people can use to become happier for a sustained period of time. In particular, Matthew investigated how these strategies could be taken out of the laboratory and used to the advantage of organizations and their employees to spark culture change.

Using his expertise in positive psychology, Dr. Della Porta assists business professionals in cultivating optimal employee performance, engagement, and organizational health while helping the bottom line. He has given evidence-based recommendations to a variety of organizations wishing to emphasize employee happiness and positivity in their corporate cultures.

Dr. Della Porta is also passionate about communicating complex research findings to general audiences. To this end, he has given presentations to several organizations wishing to learn more about the latest positive psychology research and how it can be applied to the workplace. In addition, Dr. Della Porta has a collection of over 40 articles offering advice on the pursuit of happiness on; several of these articles have been featured in the Huffington Post.
